Note: !Daniel Weed(2) lived in Stamford, CT. He bought the Joseph Mead house in 1660
with his brother John, and he bought the John Rockwell property in 1669. In
March 1675, Daniel was on a list of six men who built the fortifications when
the Indians became on edge. He and wife Ruth lived in Rye, NY about 1677, but
returned to Stamford apparently long enough to remove to Bedford where he was
one of the original proprieters of the Hop Ground, which he and twenty-one other
men purchased from the Indians on 23 Dec 1680. Daniel was to remain in Bedford
until approximately 1685, when he returned to Stamford; his original property in
Bedford was sold to John Finch. He was made a deputy of Stamford, to the
Connecticut Legislature, Oct 1694; Oct 1695; and May 1696. He was one of three
men to get John Davenport as a minister. Daniel died in Stamford 29 Nov 1697;
letters of administration of his estate were granted to his widow and brother
Jonas 24 Apr 1698. The inventory of his estate was taken by Jonas Weed and
Daniel Scofield, and filed 16 Apr 1698. Daniel's widow Ruth retained some of
Daniel's land holdings in Bedford after his death and bought land of Zachariah
Roberts 9 Feb 1699.
