Note: !John Townsend's Father was 47 and his Mother was 37 when he was born. His
reason for leaving Middlebury and going to New York is unknown. His occupation
listed on the marriage license was Solicitor. John worked for the Westchester
Lighting Company (later Con Ed) all his life. He rode a horse and buggy daily
from Ossining to Pleasantville to light the gas lamps. After retirement, he
worked part-time for the Parks and Recreation Department. He and Cornelia lived
at 8 Lafayette Avenue in Ossining. They were Methodists. He is remembered for
his grape arbor and beautiful irises.

Note: !Norma Townsend's parents resided at 347 North High Street in Mt. Vernon NY at
the time of her birth. She was named after Norma Adams, a family friend and
principal of a school in Rome NY. Norma graduated from Ossining High School
in 1933. She and Harold McIlveen were married at the home of her parents, 8
Lafayette Avenue in Ossining, by the Rev. Walter H. Lofttinese. The marriage
was witnessed by Wheeler Townsend, the bride's brother, and Florence Kruse, the
groom's sister. Norma worked at Readers Digest in Pleasantville NY as a typist,
bookkeeper and cashier. They lived at 8 Prospect Place, 8 Lafayette Avenue and
Samstag Avenue. They moved to Willowick OH in 1962. She worked as a bookkeeper
at Sheridan Furniture Company. They moved to Norwalk CT in 1970. She worked for
the local newspaper, the NORWALK HOUR. They retired to Tarpon Springs FL in 1975
where she still resides. She is called "Nana" by her grandchildren and great-
grandchildren.

Note: !Harold Raymond McIlveen was born at 1030 Prospect Avenue in the Bronx, Bronx
County, New York City, NY. The McIlveen family lived at one time at 1660
Bathgate in the Bronx. The 1920 census lists their residence as 700 Rheinlander
Avenue in the Bronx. They also lived on Billingsly Terrace in the Bronx until
they moved to Ossining about 1928. Harold served with U.S. Naval Militia. He
started his occupation as an electrician helper at New York Central Railroad
shop in Harmon NY at the age of fourteen. He became supervisor at the same
shops. He lived on Samstag Avenue near his parents and sister Vera's family. He
was then promoted to Cleveland OH as master mechanic in 1962. He was transferred
to Stamford CT (Penn Central Railroad) in 1970 where he acted as superintendent
to the mass transit authority before retiring in 1975. He and Norma retired to
Tarpon Springs FL. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Ossining NY and a
member of the First United Methodist Church, Tarpon Springs FL. He was an avid
golfer, called "Mac" by his wife and friends and "Pop-Pop" by his grandchildren.

Note: !Judith Anne McIlveen graduated from Ossining High School in 1960. She and William McIlveen moved to the State of Washington in 1968. Her first husband, William George Skerratt died from injuries in an automobile accident in 1972. She married 2nd Wayne Clevenger and lived with him in McKinleyville CA. They divorced in 1992. She married 3rd Hal Nugent and they live in Raymond WA.
