Note: !Isaac D. Barrett was born at the old Barrett homestead on Barrett Hill. He
remained at that place until the time of his marriage, and then began
housekeeping on a portion of the original farm. Here he stayed two years, and
then removed to a farm which his father bought in Peekskill Hollow (later owned
by Sarles Drew). He afterward purchased a farm of George Tompkins, south of
Red Mills, and lived on it nine years. He then purchased a farm on the west
side of Lake Mahopac of Abram Cronk, which he later sold. In 1892, Mr. Barrett
purchased a residence on the east side of the road a short distance south of
Red Mill Presbyterian Church. He improved that house and made it into an
elegant and convenient home. He made agriculture his principle business, and
held the office of assessor for several years. As a member of the Baptist
church, his interest in its welfare never ceased. For twenty-five years he was
a deacon in the church. He was also superindendent of the Sabbath school and
treasurer of the Baptist society. He died aged 77/3/4. The calculated date of
death is 31 Jan 1907.

Note: !Ida E. Barrett died at the early age of 22/4/22. This young lady was a
general favorite in the community, and a bright and shining ornament in the
Babtist church of which she was a loved member. Her loss was deeply felt and
greatly mourned. The following notice, which appeared in the papers, expressed
the feelings of all who knew her:
"BARRETT - At Mahopac Falls, N.Y., Dec. 11th, 1879. Miss Ida E., only
daughter of Deacon Isaac D. and Tamar A. Barrett, in her 23d year."
