PUTNAM COUNTY COURIER Friday 6 Mar 1903 Mrs. SOLOMON BARRETT. Mrs. Sarah Knox,
the wife of Solomon Barrett, who lives on the Wickopee road, in Putnam Valley,
died on Monday afternoon after an illness lasting a year or more.
Mrs. Barrett was the daughter of Edmund and Hannah Knox and was born in
Drewville, near Carmel. Edward Knox of Danbury is a brother. She was 68 years,
4 (?) months and 18 days old.
The funeral will take place this Friday afternoon and the services will be
held in the Kent Cliffs Church at one o'clock.

According to Bernice Heady Gottwald, Sarah Knox barrett was a houswife and
midwife.

husband. When he came back into the house later, she was dead, probably of a
heart attack.

on Monday. Auto Mechanic at Fisher and Craft Chevrolet Many Years. Fire Dept.
Charter Member. Charles Franklin Beach, a resident of Mahopac Falls most of
his life, died Saturday, 15 Sep. 1962 at the Mahopac hospital where he had been
a patient one day. His age was 66. The deceased was a son of Frank and
Byronette Barrett Beach and he was born at Baldwin Place 2 November 1895. He
attended the local school and for many years was an automobile mechanic in the
garage of Arthur Fisher and later Craft Chevrolet at Mahopac Falls. He had
been retired for the past year. He was a charter member of the Mahopac Falls
Fire Dept. and a member of the Putnam County Firemen's Association. Surviving
are his wife, the former Ethel Jacobson, three daughters, Miss Allison Beach,
of Mahopac Falls, Mrs. Bernice Roarabaugh and Mrs. Winifred Normandin, both of
Wappingers Falls, a son, the Rev. Donald Beach of Chapmanville, W. Va., 16
grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He also leaves two sisters, Mrs.
Sadie Bittner, of Croton Falls and Mrs. Estella Zinser of Lincolndale and two
brothers, Roy Beach of Bridgeport, Conn., and Weston Beach of Pittsfield, Mass.
Sunday evening the Mahopac Falls Fire Dept. held their service at the Cargain
Funeral Home in Carmel. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at two
o'clock at the Red Mills Baptist church at Mahopac Falls and were conducted by
the pastor, the Rev. Leo J. Insinga. Interment was made in the family plot in
the Ballard-Barrett cemetery at Mahopac Falls. Pallbearers were Walter
Tompkins, Charles Macdonald, Edgar Fanderveer and Earl Tompkins."
