Obit: SERVICE HELD FOR OSCAR J. BARRETT. Funeral services were held Tuesday
for Oscar J. Barrett, of Willow Road, Carmel, who passed away at his home on
May 20, following a long illness. Mr. Barrett was born Oct. 13, 1878, in
Lincolndale, and until the time of his illness, was employed in Carmel.
Services were held on Monday, May 22 from Cargain's Funeral Home and from the
Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, with the Rev. H. Pierce Simpson officiating.
Interment was in Raymond Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were Homer Cole, Lee
Smith, Harold Baxter, Samuel Hickman, John Cole, and Chauncy Craft. Surviving
are his widow the former Alice M. Adams, two daughters, Mrs. Frank McIntyre, of
Mt. Vernon, and Mrs. B. Hawley Smith, of Brewster; one brother, Nelson Barrett,
of Yorktown, and one granddaughter.
