Barrett, Squire Reynolds (b. 15 APR 1839, d. 2 JUL 1891)
Note: !Squire Reynolds Barrett was in the bakery business in Sing Sing and the milk business in New York City. He had a milk store on 46th Street where he sold milk, cream, eggs and butter, fresh and salted. He also had several milk routes. He ran a grocery store on 3rd Avenue for a while. They lived next to the creamery on 46th Street. He died at West 53rd Street in N.Y.C.

Barrett, Stephen Hanford (b. 12 MAY 1842, d. 11 NOV 1915)
Note: !Stephen Hanford Barrett learned the plumbers trade in New York City and moved
to Auburn, NY in 1863. The city water had just been introduced into the city.
He was employed for a time by Uhedell Hardware Firm and in Jan 1864 he opened
the first plumbing shop in the city at No. 1 State Street. He continued in
business for 53 years at #1 Exchange Street, 84-87 Genesee Street, 15 Elizabeth
Street, and 14-16 Genesee, where he was in business when he passed on. On May
12, 1865 he married Marion A, Marble by Rev. Charles Hawley of the First
Presbyterian Church; she was 21 years old and he was 23 years old. They bought
and lived at 31 Steele Street, where Stephen Edwin was born. Marion died March
17, 1868 of malignant scarlet fever. Stephen sold the house and went to live
with his mother-in-law, Emeline Marble and her mother, Harriet Barnes. After
two and a half years he married on March 13, 1871 Esther Babbit and bought
the #15 Elizabeth Street house where they lived for a number of years. Here
their son, William Leonard was born on July 7, 1873 . Esther died on 21 Aug
1908 aged 79 in the East Genesee Street house, which Stephen had built. On Nov
25, 1909 he married Carrie Shourds. Carrie died in 1916, the year after
Stephen. Stephen was a member of Central Presbyterian Church, Chamber of
Commerce, St. Pauls Lodge, and Davids Royal Arch Chapter Salem Towne Commandry.
