A Quiet Wedding - Banks - Barrett
Mr. J. Stewart Banks of New York, and Miss Carrie S. Barrett, of Katonah, a
highly reapected young lady, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John J. Barrett of Cherry
Street, were quietly married at the home of the bride's parents on Tuesday
evening at six o'clock. The ceremony was performed by Rev. A. D. Reid, pastor
of the Presbyterian church.
Although the festivity was simple, it was in every way very pretty. The
best man was William F. Carpenter, of New York, and the bridesmaid was the
bridegroom's sister, Miss Charlotte Banks.
Mr. Banks is a most estimable young man, having an excellent position, being
superintendent of a large lumber firm in the city. He is the son of the late
Alfred G. Banks, of Mt. Kisco, and grandson of Joseph Banks, of Byram Hill.
Congradulations were in order after the ceremony, and then followed
refreshments. There were beautiful presents from the many friends of the young
couple.
Only the immediate relatives of the young couple attended the wedding,
however; among those present were Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Barrett, of Stamford,
Conn. and Mrs. Orion Banks and Miss Annie Glass, of Jersey City.
The bridal couple left on the 7:50 train for New York and will take a short
wedding trip, before settling down to housekeeping in the city.
.
Carrie Susan Barrett and Joseph Stewart Banks resided in New York City, Mt.
Kisco, NY, Yorktown Heights, NY, Montclair and Verona, NJ, Crawfordsville, IN,
and Mount Dora, FL.
