Obituary:
DIED * On Tuesday, Jan 5th, at his residence at Bedford Station, Mr. Hosea F.
Barrett aged 48 years. He had been sick about 10 days with the grip and
pneumonia. He leaves a wife and son, Irving, a young man of 17 years. Funeral
services were held at the Methodist Episcopal Church at one o'clock this Friday
afternoon. Burial in Buxton cemetery.

Note: !Thenia Griffen died aged 74/1/13. Obituary: DIED Mrs. Thenia Barrett, at her home here, on Monday, Feb. 4th, aged 74 years. She was the widow of Hosea F. Barrett, who died many years ago. She leaves one son - Mr. Irving Barrett, who is postmaster here. Also one sister, Mrs. Jotham Bustead, of Pleasantville, Pa. The cause of death was gradual failing of health. The funeral was held on Wednesday at 1:30, at the house. The body was placed in the vault in Oakwood cemetery, Mount Kisco.

! Ira Barrett is listed in the Highway records in Bedford, Whitlockville and
Hook Road in 1833, 1834, 1835, 1837, 1838. Census in Bedford 1820: 3 children.
Census 1830: 6 children and 1 free colored. Census 1840: 10 children. 1850:
Town of Lewisville as laborer. In 1895, four of his sons and five of his
daughters were alive. Ira died aged 79. Burial plot B-5 with a stone marked
"Father."

Barrett, Irving (b. JAN 1872, d. 22 SEP 1942)

MARRIED - At the Church of the Ascension, Fifth Avenue and 10th Street, New
York on Sunday, October 11th, 1903, by Rev. Dr. Percy S. Grant, Mrs. Ella L.
Traynier to Mr. Irving Barrett, both of Bedford Station. The news of the
wedding came quite as a surprise to many of our young people, although the
happy event had been anticipated as not far away. The young couple will
receive the hearty congradulations and good wishes of their many friends. They
are spending a week at Niagra Falls, and various places of interest in Canada.

Irving Barrett
Irving Barrett, 70, former Bedford Hills Postmaster, died Tuesday at his home
on Church Street after an illness of nearly ten years. He was a life-long
resident of Bedford Hills where he was born January, 1872. His parents were
the late Hosea and Thena Griffin.
A private funeral service will be conducted by the Rev. George A. Boss
tomorrow at Clark Funeral Home, Katonah. Interment will be at Oakwood
Cemetery, Mount Kisco.

Mr. Barrett served as postmaster for 15 years and prior to that was employed
as a painter and decorator. He was ex-chief of the Bedford Hills Fire
Department and belonged to Mount Kisco Lodge 708 F. & A. M. and the Independent
Order of the Odd Fellows. He was a member of the Bedford Hills Methodist
Church.
His wife, Ella A. Barrett, survives.
